Senior Construction Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent and results-driven Senior Construction Manager to oversee significant building projects in and around Leeds . This role is central to the successful execution of construction phases, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for leading site operations, managing multidisciplinary teams, and fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional leadership qualities, a deep understanding of construction processes, and a commitment to operational excellence in a demanding, site-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
• Implement and enforce stringent health and safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections and audits.
• Manage project budgets, controlling costs and identifying opportunities for value engineering.
• Supervise and mentor site engineers, foremen, and other site personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams to ensure smooth project flow and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Maintain comprehensive site records, including progress reports, incident logs, and quality documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations .
• Proficiency in project management software and construction scheduling tools.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
