Senior Construction Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Construction Project Manager to lead significant projects in the Sunderland, Tyne and Wear area. This role demands a leader with a proven track record in successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and control of projects, from initial concept through to final handover. This is a critical position that requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of all facets of the construction lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of construction projects, including planning, design, procurement, execution, and closeout.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring all objectives are met.
• Lead and motivate project teams, including site staff, subcontractors, and consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Manage client relationships, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
• Implement and enforce stringent Health and Safety policies and procedures across all project sites.
• Control project costs, manage variations, and ensure timely payments to suppliers and subcontractors.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the construction industry .
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, and risk management principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CIOB) is highly advantageous.
