Senior Control Systems Engineer - Industrial Automation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join their team in Brighton . This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated control systems for industrial processes, particularly within the energy sector. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of automated systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC, SCADA, and DCS control system architectures for industrial applications.
• Program and configure various PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA systems.
• Develop and implement robust control strategies to optimize process performance and ensure safety.
• Conduct system testing, commissioning, and provide on-site support during plant start-ups.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues, minimizing downtime.
• Collaborate with clients and internal engineering teams to define system requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Strong proficiency in programming and configuring major PLC brands (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and SCADA software.
• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is a plus.
• Knowledge of industrial networks (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP) and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
