Senior Control Systems Engineer - Power Generation

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join their advanced engineering team in Reading , focusing on power generation technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) for power generation facilities.
• Configure and program control systems, including logic development, HMI design, and network configuration.
• Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning of new control systems and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to control system hardware and software.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including functional design specifications and operating manuals.
• Collaborate with project teams, operations, and maintenance staff to ensure seamless system operation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior control systems engineers.

Requirements

• BEng/MEng degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in control systems engineering , with a strong background in power generation or similar process industries.
• Proficiency with leading PLC/DCS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, ABB) and SCADA systems.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, OPC).
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, electrical systems, and process dynamics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
