Senior Control Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join their advanced manufacturing team in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This critical role involves the design, implementation, and optimization of sophisticated control systems for automated industrial processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation, efficiency, and safety of complex machinery and production lines. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced control system solutions for industrial automation.
• Program and configure PLCs, DCS, and other control system hardware and software.
• Develop HMI/SCADA systems for process monitoring, control, and data acquisition.
• Conduct system commissioning, testing, and performance validation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues in a live production environment.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production staff to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and best practices for control systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in control systems engineering and automation.
• Expertise in programming multiple PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Logix).
• Strong knowledge of SCADA/HMI software, industrial networks, and robotics.
• Experience with process simulation and mathematical modeling of control systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure in a demanding manufacturing setting.
