About the Role
Our client, a key player in the industrial automation and energy sector , is seeking an accomplished Senior Control Systems Engineer to enhance their team in Wolverhampton . This role is critical for the design, implementation, and optimization of sophisticated control systems for power generation, process plants, and automated manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of complex machinery and processes through advanced control strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of automation technologies, PLC programming, HMI development, and system integration, contributing to the efficiency and safety of industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems for various industrial applications.
- Develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Implement advanced control strategies, including PID control, cascade control, and model predictive control (MPC) .
- Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems hardware and software.
- Collaborate with project engineers and clients to define system requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams on control system operation and maintenance.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial control systems engineering .
- Proficiency in programming major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI software.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks, DCS systems , and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
