Senior Control Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Control Systems Engineer to enhance their automation and control solutions team based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands , operating on a hybrid model. This role involves the design, implementation, and optimisation of complex control systems for industrial applications. You will play a key part in developing innovative solutions that improve efficiency, safety, and performance for our clients, working collaboratively with a talented engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC and DCS systems for industrial automation projects.
• Develop and implement sophisticated control strategies, including PID control and advanced process control.
• Create and maintain detailed system documentation, including functional design specifications and logic diagrams.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for installed control systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices in industrial automation.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering , Automation, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in control systems engineering, with a strong focus on industrial automation .
• Proficiency in programming major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens S7, Rockwell Logix) and HMI development.
• Experience with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team.
