Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join their innovative team in Derby, Derbyshire . This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of control systems for industrial automation and energy management solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of complex machinery and processes, working closely with hardware and software development teams. Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
- Develop and implement advanced control strategies for process optimization and energy efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to control systems hardware and software.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate control solutions into larger systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including control system designs, logic diagrams, and user manuals.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in automation and control technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial controls engineering and automation.
- Proficiency in programming various PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA software.
- Strong understanding of robotics , motor control, and instrumentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in the energy or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
