About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Courier Driver to join their dynamic team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This hybrid role offers a blend of on-the-road responsibilities and remote coordination, providing a unique opportunity to leverage your driving expertise while contributing to strategic logistics planning. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of packages, handling customer inquiries, and assisting with route optimization. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, customer-focused individual who can work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, driving efficiency and client satisfaction across the Tyne and Wear region.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled deliveries and pickups with accuracy and punctuality across the assigned territory.
• Provide exceptional customer service, resolving delivery issues and addressing client concerns professionally.
• Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of assigned delivery vehicles through regular checks.
• Utilize handheld devices and software for route planning, navigation, and delivery confirmation.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior courier staff, sharing best practices and operational knowledge.
• Contribute to remote planning sessions to optimize delivery routes and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid UK driving licence, with relevant experience in multi-drop deliveries.
• Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to traffic regulations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with navigation tools and delivery management software.
• Experience in a senior or mentoring role within a delivery or logistics context is advantageous.
