Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Analyst to join their established financial institution in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is central to evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers, managing risk exposure, and ensuring the quality of the loan portfolio. You will conduct in-depth financial analysis, assess risk factors, and make recommendations on credit applications. This is a key position for a professional with a strong understanding of credit risk assessment within the UK banking sector, contributing to sound lending practices and financial stability.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze financial statements, credit histories, and other relevant data to assess the credit risk of individuals and businesses.
Prepare detailed credit reports and recommendations for loan approvals, rejections, or modifications.
Monitor the performance of existing loans and portfolios, identifying and reporting on potential credit issues.
Ensure all credit decisions and analyses adhere to the company's credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, such as loan officers and relationship managers.
Stay informed about economic conditions and industry trends that may impact credit risk.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in credit analysis, lending, or a related financial role.
Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, and risk evaluation techniques.
Proficiency in credit analysis software and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of UK credit regulations and banking practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
