About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Credit Risk Manager to join their established team in Portsmouth . This role is instrumental in developing and overseeing the credit risk strategy for the organisation, ensuring the robust management of credit portfolios across various financial products. You will lead a team of risk professionals, driving best practices in risk assessment, policy development, and portfolio monitoring within the dynamic banking and finance sector. This hybrid role combines essential in-office collaboration with focused remote working capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective credit risk policies and procedures.
- Oversee the assessment and management of credit risk across all portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of credit risk analysts and officers, fostering professional growth and performance.
- Develop and manage credit scoring models, early warning systems, and stress testing frameworks.
- Analyse portfolio performance, identifying trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Report on credit risk exposure and strategy to senior management and relevant committees.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in credit risk management within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of credit risk modelling, portfolio management, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel Accords).
- Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
