About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join their dynamic security operations team, remotely servicing their operations in Southampton . This role is central to identifying, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats to protect our client's sensitive data and systems. You will leverage advanced security tools and techniques to detect sophisticated attacks, conduct in-depth investigations, and contribute to the strategic development of proactive defense mechanisms. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis of security alerts and incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for mitigation.
- Develop and tune security monitoring tools and SIEM rules to enhance threat detection capabilities.
- Conduct forensic investigations into security breaches and provide expert analysis of findings.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to implement security enhancements and remediation plans.
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors affecting enterprise environments.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations processes.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Cyber Security Analyst or similar role, with a proven ability to handle complex security incidents.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common attack methodologies.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack), IDS/IPS, EDR, and threat intelligence tools.
- Experience in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, or equivalent experience are highly valued.
