Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join their security team in a fully remote capacity. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and managing advanced security solutions to protect the organization's digital assets. You will be responsible for threat analysis, vulnerability management, and ensuring the robust security posture of all IT systems and networks. This position requires a proactive approach to cybersecurity, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment, driving security innovation and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks across the enterprise environment.
• Develop and manage security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and protection.
• Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery phases.
• Automate security processes and tasks using scripting languages to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security engineers and analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cyber security engineering or a similar technical security role.
• Deep understanding of network security, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and endpoint protection technologies.
• Proficiency in security scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and log analysis for threat detection.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or CCNA Security are highly desirable for this remote position.
