About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join their advanced security team, offering a fully remote working arrangement with occasional needs to visit their offices in Norwich . This role is instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing the organization's cybersecurity infrastructure. You will be responsible for deploying and maintaining security solutions, conducting threat assessments, and providing expert guidance to protect against sophisticated cyber threats. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a deep understanding of security technologies and a passion for staying ahead of emerging threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage security solutions including firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
- Lead security architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on security best practices.
- Develop and automate security processes and tasks using scripting or programming languages.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and manage remediation efforts.
- Respond to and investigate complex security incidents, working to minimize impact.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or in a similar senior technical security role.
- Expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and application security.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
- Strong understanding of threat modeling, risk assessment, and incident response.
- Relevant advanced security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or GIAC certifications are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
