Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to bolster their security infrastructure in Plymouth . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced security solutions to protect the organization's digital assets and critical systems from sophisticated cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security.
• Develop and implement security strategies to protect against advanced persistent threats (APTs) and zero-day exploits.
• Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure and development teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the technology lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, standards, and procedures.
• Stay current with the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security engineering or a related field.
• Expertise in network security, system security, cloud security, and threat detection.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms, firewalls, and EDR solutions.
• Strong understanding of incident response procedures and forensic analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, or CEH are highly desirable.
