About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their advanced security team in Wolverhampton . Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity defenses, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Lead threat hunting initiatives to proactively identify and neutralize sophisticated threats before they impact the business.
• Develop and automate security processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of security operations.
• Conduct regular security architecture reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Manage and respond to cybersecurity incidents, performing forensic analysis and coordinating remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and infrastructure deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a strong focus on defensive security technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of network security, system security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and threat intelligence.
• Expertise in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack) and EDR solutions.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements.
