Senior Cybersecurity Specialist (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to join their fully remote security operations team, based in the Sunderland region but operating 100% remotely. This role is essential for defending the organisation against sophisticated cyber threats. You will be responsible for analyzing security threats, developing defensive strategies, and managing security incident response. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools, conducting in-depth analysis of potential threats.
• Lead the investigation and response to security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
• Develop and refine security playbooks and standard operating procedures for incident response.
• Perform threat hunting activities to proactively identify and neutralize advanced persistent threats (APTs).
• Contribute to the development and implementation of security technologies and architectures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat intelligence.
• Expertise in analyzing security logs and alerts from SIEM, EDR, and other security platforms.
• Strong understanding of attacker methodologies, TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures), and threat landscape.
• Proficiency in digital forensics and malware analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, suited for a remote environment.
• Relevant certifications such as GCIH, GCFA, OSCP, or equivalent.
