About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to build and maintain robust data pipelines supporting their advanced AI and Machine Learning initiatives in Cambridge . This critical role focuses on ensuring the availability, quality, and efficiency of data required for model development and deployment. You will work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to design, implement, and optimize scalable data solutions, enabling the organization to leverage data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines for AI/ML workloads.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and prepare large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Optimize data infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets.
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- Contribute to the selection and implementation of data technologies and platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on supporting AI/ML projects .
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database technologies (relational, NoSQL, data warehouses).
- Strong programming skills in Python or Scala, and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and practices is a plus.
