About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to build and maintain their advanced big data platforms in Nottingham . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring the availability and integrity of data for analytics and machine learning initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable ETL/ELT data pipelines using big data technologies.

• Implement data quality checks and ensure data governance standards are met.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide efficient data solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on big data technologies.
• Proficiency in SQL and programming languages like Python or Scala .
• Hands-on experience with big data frameworks such as Spark , Hadoop, Hive, or Kafka.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Data Lake, Google BigQuery) is highly desirable.
