About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join their established and collaborative remote-first team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support their critical data analytics and machine learning initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and data pipelines.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest and transform data from various sources.
- Build and manage robust data warehouses and data lakes using cloud-based technologies.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data availability and quality for their needs.
- Implement data governance and security best practices to protect sensitive information.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize data infrastructure for efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a related role.
- Proven experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing solutions.
- Experience in building and managing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
