Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join their growing data team in Brighton . This role is instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines and infrastructure that support the organization's data analytics and business intelligence needs. You will work with large, complex datasets, implement data warehousing solutions, and ensure data quality and accessibility for stakeholders across the company. Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and pipelines.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all data systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data requirements.
• Implement data governance and security best practices to protect sensitive information.
• Monitor data pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Proven experience building and optimizing robust data pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Kafka, or Airflow.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with various database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and their data services.
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques and data warehousing concepts.
