About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Data Engineer to join their analytics division in Wolverhampton . This critical role will involve designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support the company's growing data needs. You will work with large datasets, implement ETL processes, and ensure data quality and accessibility for analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and pipelines.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Build and manage data warehouses and data lakes to support analytical requirements.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all data systems.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
- Monitor data pipeline performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong expertise in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Data Factory, Google BigQuery).
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
