Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join their expanding analytics team in Manchester . You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and pipelines.
• Develop and implement data strategies, building data models that support business needs.
• Automate data processes using ETL/ELT tools and programming languages.
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and security across all data platforms.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide clean, well-structured data for analysis and machine learning models.
• Optimize data pipeline performance and troubleshoot data-related issues.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in data engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala, and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, S3, Glue; Azure Data Lake, Databricks; Google BigQuery).
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with data visualization tools and BI platforms is a plus.
