Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join their analytics team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will play a key role in shaping our client's data strategy and ensuring the availability of high-quality data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable and efficient ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Build and maintain data warehousing solutions and data lake architectures using modern technologies.
• Implement data quality checks and ensure the reliability and accuracy of data across all systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
• Manage and monitor data infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain robust documentation for data processes, models, and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala .
• Extensive experience with SQL and working knowledge of various database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake).
• Hands-on experience with cloud data services (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote-first environment.
