Pulse Group are exclusively partnered with a major global retailer who are investing significantly in their digital and data capabilities as part of a large-scale transformation programme.
We’re looking for a Senior Data Governance Analyst to join their growing Data & Analytics function and play a key role in shaping how data governance operates across their digital estate.
This is a newly created position rather than a backfill. You’ll be joining a team that is building out its permanent capability, with Collibra sitting on top of Databricks as the enterprise data catalogue. The focus is very much on building and implementing governance, rather than simply maintaining existing policies and processes.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering the Data Governance Framework across digital transformation initiatives
- Cataloguing digital data assets within Collibra
- Building and maintaining business glossaries and technical metadata
- Establishing clear Data Owner and Data Champion accountability
- Mapping end-to-end data lineage across key digital data flows
- Defining data quality rules, thresholds and acceptance criteria
- Working across Digital, Product, Architecture, Engineering and wider business teams
- Running workshops and helping stakeholders adopt the wider governance framework
What we're looking for:
- Data Governance & Data Cataloguing
- Collibra, although experience with Alation or Informatica Governance/Axon will also be considered
- Business Glossary & Metadata Management
- Digital data such as clickstream, web/app analytics or e-commerce
- Modern data platforms – ideally Databricks
- Working with both technical and business stakeholders
Retail or FMCG experience would be ideal, but we're also open to candidates from banking or other regulated environments who have strong digital platform experience.
Exposure to SQL, Python, Unity Catalog or lake house environments would be advantageous but isn't essential.
Package & Working Pattern
- Up to 25% Bonus
- Hybrid – 2 days per week in Reading (Anchor Day Monday)
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond governance theory and get hands-on with a major digital transformation, helping build a governance capability that will operate at significant scale.
