Senior Data Scientist - Bioinformatics

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist with a specialization in Bioinformatics to join their cutting-edge research division. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute advanced statistical analyses and machine learning models for large-scale biological data.
• Develop novel bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
• Collaborate with biologists and chemists to interpret data and generate actionable insights for drug discovery programs.
• Build and maintain robust data infrastructure and reproducible research workflows.
• Present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics, data science, and computational biology.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics or data science within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
• Strong experience with genomic data analysis, including RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and whole-genome sequencing.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
