About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist with a focus on Energy Analytics to join their fully remote team, supporting operations across the UK. In this role, you will leverage vast datasets to build predictive models, derive actionable insights, and drive data-informed decision-making throughout the organization. You will work on challenging problems related to energy consumption, grid optimization, renewable energy integration, and market forecasting. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and statistical analyses to address complex energy-related challenges.
- Clean, process, and analyze large, complex datasets from various sources, including sensor data, market information, and operational logs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, operations, and business development to understand their needs and translate them into data science solutions.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and reporting dashboards to visualize key trends and insights.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in data science , machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
- Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics, with a strong preference for experience in the energy sector .
- Proficiency in Python or R, including relevant libraries for data manipulation, statistical modeling, and machine learning (e.g., Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with SQL and working with large relational databases.
- Strong understanding of statistical principles, predictive modeling, and data mining techniques.
