Senior Data Scientist - Energy Analytics

About the Role

In this role, you will leverage vast datasets from exploration, production, and operations to derive actionable insights and build predictive models that drive strategic decisions within the energy sector. You will work on challenging problems, from optimizing exploration targets to improving operational efficiency and predicting equipment failure. Key Responsibilities

• Developing and deploying machine learning models for tasks such as predictive maintenance, production forecasting, and reservoir characterization.
• Analyzing large, complex datasets from diverse sources, including seismic, well logs, and operational data.
• Collaborating with domain experts (geologists, engineers) to understand business needs and translate them into data science problems.
• Communicating complex findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentoring junior data scientists and contributing to the team's best practices in data analytics and model development.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist , with a strong background in the energy industry.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, and experience with data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
