Senior Data Scientist - FinTech

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join their cutting-edge FinTech division, operating on a fully remote basis. This role is pivotal in leveraging vast datasets to develop sophisticated predictive models, optimise financial strategies, and drive product innovation. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies, significantly impacting the company's growth and competitive edge in the financial technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning models for applications such as fraud detection, credit scoring, algorithmic trading, and customer behaviour prediction.
• Extract, clean, and transform large, complex datasets from various sources to prepare them for analysis and modelling.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can inform business decisions.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data science models into production systems and pipelines.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and best practices in data science and FinTech .

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong focus on the financial sector or FinTech.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and extensive experience with relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong experience with SQL and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Excellent understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
