Senior Data Scientist - Machine Learning

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and innovative Senior Data Scientist specializing in Machine Learning to join their growing data science team in Leeds . In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and deploying sophisticated predictive models and machine learning algorithms that drive business insights and product innovation. You will work with large, complex datasets, tackle challenging analytical problems, and collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to integrate ML solutions into production systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms for various business applications (e.g., prediction, classification, recommendation).
• Extract, clean, and transform large, complex datasets from diverse sources using SQL, Python, and other data manipulation tools.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform model development and business strategy.
• Evaluate and validate model performance, and work with engineers to deploy models into production environments.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science , machine learning, and AI, and apply them to solve real-world problems.
• Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data science or machine learning roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python or R, including experience with data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Proven experience in developing and deploying various machine learning models, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, experimental design, and data mining techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and strong communication abilities.
