About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic technology team in Glasgow . This role is central to enhancing our client's software development lifecycle through advanced automation, robust infrastructure, and seamless deployment processes. You will work on building and maintaining scalable cloud environments, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our production systems. The ideal candidate has a passion for automation, a deep understanding of cloud platforms, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with development and operations teams to foster a culture of continuous integration and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud resources.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
- Automate operational tasks, streamline workflows, and improve the overall efficiency of the development and deployment processes.
- Collaborate closely with software development teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize application performance, and ensure smooth releases.
- Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to provide visibility into system health and performance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering role.
- Strong proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS , Azure, or GCP, and their associated services.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
