Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their growing technology hub in Sunderland . This role is critical for bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring the efficient, reliable, and scalable deployment of our client's applications. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure and tooling that supports our development teams. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployments.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Implement and enforce infrastructure as code principles using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high availability and performance of applications.
• Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.
• Champion DevOps best practices, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and automation across the SDLC.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role.
• Strong proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and system administration.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
