About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their expanding IT infrastructure team based in Cardiff . This role is crucial for enhancing and automating our client's software development lifecycle, from development and testing to deployment and operations. You will play a key part in building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and efficient delivery of our software products. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for an individual passionate about infrastructure, automation, and cloud technologies, working within a hybrid model designed for collaboration and flexibility in Cardiff .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure .
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Enhance security posture by implementing best practices in infrastructure security and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or systems administration roles.
- Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS , Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
