About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join their growing IT team in Edinburgh . This role is instrumental in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, focusing on automating and streamlining our client's development and deployment processes. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud environments to ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our software solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application builds, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery lifecycles.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Champion DevOps best practices and work to improve overall system reliability and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their associated services.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring principles.
