About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their fast-paced technology team, with the flexibility to work remotely or from their Stoke-on-Trent office. This role is critical in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring the seamless deployment, scalability, and reliability of their applications. You will be responsible for automating and streamlining development and deployment processes, building robust infrastructure, and fostering a culture of continuous integration and continuous delivery. This is a key position for an individual passionate about automation, infrastructure, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Automate and optimize application deployment, configuration, and management processes using CI/CD tools .
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Develop and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system health and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues quickly.
- Champion DevOps best practices , security, and operational excellence across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or similar role, with a strong understanding of system administration.
- Proven expertise in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP ) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell .
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and IaC tools.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid setting.
