Senior Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Drilling Engineer to join their expanding operations based in Coventry . This role is critical in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling campaigns. You will be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of complex drilling operations, managing risks, and optimizing performance across various well types. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of drilling technology and operational challenges, contributing to the company's reputation for excellence in exploration and production activities across diverse geological settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive drilling programs , including well design, casing, cementing, and fluid selection.
• Oversee drilling operations on-site or remotely, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
• Manage drilling contractors and service providers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform real-time monitoring of drilling parameters and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Conduct post-drilling analysis and performance reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements.
• Stay abreast of new drilling technologies and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in drilling engineering, including offshore and onshore environments.
• Proven experience in managing complex drilling challenges, such as high-pressure/high-temperature (HPHT) wells.
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software and performance analysis tools.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for this role in Coventry .
