Senior Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drilling Engineer to join their team in Coventry . You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a deep understanding of drilling technology, risk management, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize drilling programs, troubleshoot challenges, and implement best practices in a challenging operational landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan complex drilling operations , including well trajectory, casing programs, and cementing strategies.
• Develop and manage drilling budgets and resource allocation.
• Oversee the selection and procurement of drilling equipment and services.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for drilling hazards.
• Provide on-site supervision and technical support during drilling campaigns.
• Analyze drilling performance data and implement improvements for future wells.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in drilling engineering .
• Proven track record in designing and executing complex well programs.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluids, directional drilling, and well control techniques.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
