Senior Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Drilling Engineer to join their operations team based in Coventry . This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute to critical drilling projects within the energy sector . You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This position is key to our client's success in developing new energy resources and requires a professional with a strong technical background and excellent project management skills. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive drilling plans , including well design, casing programs, and cementing strategies.
• Oversee drilling operations on-site and remotely, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct daily drilling performance reviews and implement corrective actions to optimize operations.
• Manage relationships with drilling contractors and service providers to ensure quality and cost control.
• Perform post-well analysis and provide recommendations for future drilling campaigns.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in drilling engineering , with a focus on offshore or onshore operations.
• Solid understanding of well control principles, BOP equipment , and drilling fluid systems.
• Experience with drilling simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
