Senior Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Drilling Engineer to join their operations team in Bradford . This role is essential for the planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing drilling programs, managing rig operations, and troubleshooting any technical challenges that arise. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to operational excellence and safety performance from our established base, collaborating closely with field personnel and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive drilling programs and procedures for onshore and offshore wells.
• Plan and execute drilling operations, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.
• Manage and optimize drilling fluid programs, casing and cementing designs, and directional drilling operations.
• Monitor drilling performance, analyze data, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential drilling hazards.
• Supervise drilling crews and ensure effective communication between the rig site and onshore support teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in drilling engineering , including hands-on rig experience.
• Strong understanding of drilling mechanics, well control principles, and directional drilling technology .
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
