About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join their global, remote-first operations team. This role is pivotal in planning, executing, and optimizing drilling operations for oil and gas wells, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will leverage advanced technologies and best practices to tackle complex drilling challenges worldwide, working collaboratively with onshore and offshore teams. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed drilling programs and well designs, including casing, cementing, and drilling fluid plans.
- Oversee drilling operations from a remote center, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to program objectives.
- Perform real-time monitoring of drilling parameters and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance and mitigate risks.
- Manage drilling budgets, equipment, and service providers to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Conduct post-well analysis, identify lessons learned, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in drilling engineering, including offshore and onshore operations.
- Proven experience in well planning , execution, and supervision of drilling operations.
- Strong understanding of drilling equipment, technologies, and subsurface challenges.
- Proficiency with drilling simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and remote team collaboration skills.
