Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer to support their operations in the Reading area. This role is critical for the design, implementation, and management of drilling fluid systems to ensure efficient and safe drilling operations within the Oil & Gas industry . You will provide expert advice on fluid properties, troubleshoot downhole issues related to mud performance, and contribute to cost-effective drilling solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well conditions and objectives.
• Monitor drilling fluid performance, analyze samples, and recommend adjustments to optimize properties.
• Troubleshoot downhole problems related to drilling fluids, such as lost circulation and formation damage.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and manage waste disposal for drilling fluids.
• Prepare technical reports on drilling fluid performance and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers and rig site personnel to ensure effective fluid management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a drilling fluids engineer or in a related role within the Oil & Gas sector .
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and properties.
• Experience with various drilling fluid systems (water-based, oil-based, synthetic-based).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to downhole challenges.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
