Senior Drilling Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and safety-conscious Senior Drilling Supervisor to oversee drilling operations for their projects, based out of their operations hub in Oxford . This field-based role is responsible for the direct supervision of drilling crews and contractors, ensuring all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established procedures and regulations within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be the key point of contact on the rig, managing day-to-day activities and making critical decisions to ensure project objectives are met. This position demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct drilling operations personnel and third-party contractors on the rig site.
• Ensure adherence to drilling programs, safety procedures, and environmental standards.
• Monitor drilling performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions promptly.
• Manage inventory of drilling supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Conduct daily safety meetings (toolbox talks) and safety inspections.
• Maintain accurate daily drilling reports and communicate operational status to management.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Driller or Drilling Engineer, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role (e.g., Drilling Supervisor, Rig Manager).
• Proven ability to manage and lead drilling crews effectively in a challenging environment.
• Strong understanding of drilling equipment, techniques, well control, and safety procedures.
• Possession of valid offshore survival certifications and relevant industry qualifications.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
