Senior Early Years Educator

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Early Years Educator to join their leading childcare centre in Bristol . This role offers a fantastic opportunity to take on more responsibility, mentoring junior staff and contributing to the strategic direction of the nursery's educational programs. You will be instrumental in creating an inspiring learning environment, developing innovative curriculum activities, and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. The position may involve some hybrid working for planning and administrative duties, balancing on-site engagement with flexible off-site tasks, promoting a modern approach to childcare leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of early years practitioners, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Develop and implement creative, high-quality learning experiences aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Conduct detailed observations and assessments of children's progress, identifying individual needs and setting appropriate learning goals.
• Ensure comprehensive safeguarding procedures and health & safety standards are rigorously upheld.
• Communicate effectively with parents and families, providing regular updates and involving them in their child's learning.
• Contribute to the nursery's strategic planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education, with a preference for a Foundation Degree or higher.
• Significant experience (e.g., 4+ years) working in an early years setting, with some supervisory or leadership experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework, child development, and best practices in early childhood education.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and balance on-site and remote responsibilities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous professional development.
