Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Power Distribution

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer with extensive experience in power distribution systems to join their team in Bristol . This role is integral to the design and implementation of robust and reliable power infrastructure for a variety of critical projects. You will be responsible for developing detailed designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to the overall success of complex electrical engineering initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
• Perform detailed load calculations, fault current analysis, and protective device coordination.
• Prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., BS 7671, IEEE).
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate power systems seamlessly.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on power distribution.
• In-depth knowledge of substation design , switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software for electrical drawings.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
