Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Power Distribution

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Electrical Design Engineer with specialized expertise in power distribution systems to join their team in Liverpool . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical power distribution systems.
• Perform detailed load calculations, fault current analysis, and protection coordination studies.
• Specify and select appropriate switchgear, transformers, cabling, and other distribution equipment.
• Develop comprehensive design documentation, including single-line diagrams, schematics, and layouts.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and international electrical standards and codes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in the design of electrical power distribution systems.
• Expertise in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards such as BS 7671, IEC, and IEEE.
• Experience with project lifecycle management and client liaison.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities in Liverpool .
