Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their globally distributed team, offering a fully remote position to support their extensive project portfolio, including those serving the Norwich area. This role is central to leading the design and development of innovative electrical systems for a variety of challenging projects. You will leverage your extensive expertise to mentor junior engineers, drive technical excellence, and ensure the successful delivery of complex electrical solutions, all while enjoying the freedom and flexibility of working from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of electrical systems for diverse projects, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Develop comprehensive electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring schedules using industry-standard software.
• Perform critical electrical calculations, including load analysis, short circuit calculations, and voltage drop studies.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers, fostering skill development and adherence to design standards.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders through virtual communication platforms.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international codes, standards, and regulations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering.
• Proven track record of leading the design of complex electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and safety practices.
• Exceptional remote collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
