Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Renewables

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proficient Senior Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to their renewable energy projects based in Bristol . This role is central to the design and development of electrical systems for a range of renewable energy installations, including solar, wind, and battery storage solutions. You will be responsible for producing detailed electrical designs, specifications, and schematics, ensuring projects meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs for renewable energy projects, including single-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Perform electrical calculations, including load flow, fault studies, and cable sizing.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations (e.g., BS 7671, G98/G99), and client requirements.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and contractors to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, testing protocols, and commissioning plans.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design, with a significant focus on renewable energy systems (solar, wind, BESS).
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) and electrical design tools.
• Strong understanding of power electronics, grid connection requirements, and protection systems.
• Familiarity with UK electrical regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
