Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a prominent manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their established team in Wolverhampton . This role is critical to the innovation and continuous improvement of their product portfolio. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of electrical design, from concept development and prototyping to production support. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of new industrial equipment, including control systems, power distribution, and safety circuits.
• Develop detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications using electrical CAD software.
• Perform component selection, thermal analysis, and reliability assessments for electrical systems.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing personnel.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical issues during manufacturing and on-site.
• Oversee design verification and validation testing to ensure compliance with standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design for industrial machinery or complex equipment.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
• Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and variable speed drives.
• Experience with international electrical standards and compliance (e.g., CE marking).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
