About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their engineering department in Sunderland . This role is central to the design and development of electrical systems for a variety of energy sector projects. You will be responsible for producing detailed electrical designs, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, and collaborating with project teams to deliver innovative and efficient solutions. This position offers a chance to contribute significantly to exciting projects while working in a dynamic, hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and lighting.
- Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations using CAD software.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., BS 7671, IEC standards).
- Conduct electrical load calculations, circuit analysis, and equipment selection.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and construction teams.
- Perform site surveys and provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
Requirements
- Significant experience as an Electrical Design Engineer , preferably within the energy sector.
- Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP) for electrical design.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, and safety regulations.
- Experience with industrial power distribution and control panel design.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
