Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and creative Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Leeds . This role is integral to producing detailed electrical designs for a variety of construction and industrial projects. You will be responsible for translating client requirements into functional, safe, and compliant electrical schematics and specifications. Working within a hybrid model, you'll collaborate with project teams both on-site and remotely, contributing to the successful delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications using Revit and other CAD software.
• Perform electrical load calculations, cable sizing , and protective device selection.
• Ensure designs comply with BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations, and other relevant standards.
• Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines, such as structural and mechanical engineering.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to gather information and verify installations.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and provide technical support during the construction phase.

Requirements

• A degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within building services or industrial sectors.
• Proficiency in BIM software , particularly Revit MEP, and AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of power distribution, lighting design, and fire alarm systems.
• Experience with energy-efficient design principles and sustainable technologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
